Good eye, nice capture. At first glance I thought it was a sphere modeled in a 3d program with the specular turned way up. I prefer the factthatreality was involved.....-J

Ohhhhhhhhhh, I shouldn't have had that last drink, what was in it? I don't feel so well, seeing double, dizzy.......A very nice piece indeed. Two expressions in one, it does make me a bit nauseous seeing it though, it's very hard to look at.-J

I can't understand why some works just get no critiques, this is one of them. The shading is well done, and you've captured your subject well. The white spots on the penguin are a bit distracting, and I'd like to see more white in the snow for contrast, but all in all this is very nice pice.

Ilike the color, but the pixels bother me. I think this would be MUCH better if it were started at larger size.-J

You say it's a triptych, but I'm only seeing two, the one on the right is far superior, but I do like the pink trailing off on the left. Both are great, and the softness of the egg isn't a problem at all. Went and looked over your other postings too, some very nice work.-J

I like the the muted colors, the shadowing, and the textures you've captured. I do wish it had more detail. It's a bit grainy for what I'd like to see on this(I like grain, just not here). The one thing though thatdetracts for me more than anything, is the near center placement of the subject. If this was cropped from a larger whole, I would suggest trying some other crops, maybe with more flower, making the bee part of the larger scene.-J

I've been looking over thisone for a bit now. Ilove the textures on the wood withthe pealing paint, accented by the water streaked texture on the glass. The obscured face with an emotion I can't quite put finger on(is it sadness, longing, indifference apathy?),really makes this piece..........and it wouldn't be half as nice in color or black and white, this thing screams for sepia toning, which you've added to to it's full effect. Thanks,
-J

Loving this, been coming back to it again and again. I see a city as night falls, with the rain begining to fall. I'm not sure of the "r" rating either, but hey it's an abstract......-J

...how many of the photos were yours? How many of them did you take, with your camera? The Salvador Dali painting in the background surely isn't yours. Just because someone is dead doesn't mean you can steal their work and call it your own. -J<(Mods, I am offended by copyright violations in general, and I find it offesive that someone can steal from another and call it art. I find it repugnant that someone can do so this blanatly w/o a second thought. I find even more so,...

Love this piece, it's got everything working for it, angles, colors, layout, and it says a lot without being a lot. I do, however, find the foreground being darkened a bit of a distraction, I can't help but feel the whole thing would stand out more if it were lighter, maybe original, maybe even lightened from there, maybe just the road itself. I can see you've down it to pull the viewer in, but it feels almost against the grain of everything else, perhaps because the...

Good use of greens and textures, I gotta agree with tighter crop, lose the out of focus leaf thats in the foreground left, and bring it into the golden ratio via the rule of thirds..........and welcome here!-J

I agree the effect is somewhat crayonish, but you've laid out your colors very nicely, and it's overall well shaded, maybe on a smoother paper it would work better. In my opinion though, I'd add the water back in, and let the colors blend.-J

I like it, but I think the blacks could be darker, and the edges tightened up a bit, but as you said it's a work in progress......Also the material looks a bit "rough" for fine detail, I might have chosen something different myself.-J

I love this, life study for sure. Not a perfect "beautiful" woman, but a woman, curves and all, which is beautiful. You've got a good line drawing here, it's got the greys added, now all it lacks is shading(I assume you knew that), I'd go with the dodge/burn tools, start both on midtones at 50% and play around from there. It's a very intuitive tool, and easy/fun to work with.-J

I've always strayed away from working with watercolors, too much wetness, too many colors bleeding everywhere, no control(not for me at least).......You on other hand seem to run to it, and thrive in it even. I've been looking over your works, very nice stuff to say the the least.
