Hi John,

Why did I miss something? Have there been tense times at ArtSIG related to thumbs?

Anyway great artwork in all respects. Good use of colors and forms. I agree that the use of the e-mail symbol could have been better (i.e. maybe if it were smaller and several characters had them or if there were some litering the floor, etc.).

Very successful artwork.

Sheridan

Well, yeah, as a newbie you probably haven't seen much yet. But when you've been around for several weeks like I have you'll know what I'm talking about.
But seriously, I love your work and your attitude. Thanks.

Sheridan's a newbie? Click his name, then click all works or all work critiques, then click 'show oldest first'. When does one stop being new?

Hi Rikki,

I just noticed your comment and did not see it at the time when it was made (Feb. 17, 2004). Actually I believe that John was attempting some humor there, but thanks for your supportive characterization. It is kind of ironic though that I have only been here since last September 2003 or about five months at this point and if that make me a veteran well, it speaks to the times we live in.

Of course John has only been here since Jan. 2004 and in that time he has written 90 critiques, so he fast becoming a veteran as well.

ArtSig has only existed a year. We started beta testing Feb.9,03, as near as I can tell. (It may have been a few days earlier.) I don't recall exactly when the site went 'live', but I believe it was March'03, so you've been here for half ArtSig's lifespan.

I love the muted colors and your use of light. It's only my opinion, But that blue envelope thingy doen't belong:( It's a wonderful piece and I'm happy to come across it.

Thanks. As far as the blue envelope, maybe I tried too hard to incorporate icons from artSIG. I came really close to including Herbie in this work, since he's become an artSIG icon. Maybe sean/Davis could do it!

Absolutely brilliant critique on critique. It's light-hearted and serious all at once. Modern with traditional. Muted with vibrancy. Balanced work. It kicks patootie!!!

john if i could give you six thumbs up i would. this is an excellent work. its true its real and its today. this is the epitimey of contemporary art. I also have been forced to rate works in a way i didn't want to because of artsig. I like to write on the ones i like and rate them accordingly and a number of times i have been out of conformity with the computer rules of artsig. and for this you get six thumbs up.

Thanks, Rob. Artsig is certainly a quirky little world, but at least it make you think.

I'm new here. Don't even have anything posted. I could spend more time here in the controversial section than anywhere else. Idiosyncratic, individualistic, irreverent, technically courageous, and just for fun. Wow!
