Hmm, obviously, a smashing pic. Could do with a little more cropping to remove what seems to me the irrelevant apples(?) top left, and possibly even the vertical of the stairs. I just tried that in photoshop, and it really intensifies the little girls stare. My other suggestion is to drop the effect. I'm not quite sure what it is, but it doesn't do anything for my appreciation of the picture, and the noise it brings out in her tights and knees is distracting for me.
Nice stuff...

You've captured a look any parent would recognize, Rick. The manipulation works pretty good. The pumpkins, upper left, keep attracting my attention. I'd clone them out or crop a little tighter.
