This is one of the most enchanting and beautiful photographs I have seen in a while! TTU for you.....Love the added color of the moss on the trees and the few leaves left golden for the eye to see amongst the bareness of the trees. Everything about this photo is gorgeous and mysterious. As you look inward your eye takes you on a journey. You never know what you may see. The water is a shadowing effect and colorful, may I add of the wonder of this great capture of yours. Thank you for sharing.

Hello Karen, Thank You so much for the very kind words and for taking the time to write such thoughtful and descriptive comments... I am so glad you liked this, and I want to say that it was very much like your description when seeing it live, but slightly overshadowed by fear of accidently tipping the canoe over and drowning my camera. -Rick

I like the concept, Rick and the cyanide blue reflections in the water work nicely. Maybe a bit too oversharpened don't you think? Steve

Steven, I appreciate your comments and for your taking the time to critique my photo. I did do some sharpening on this, but always try to stay away from oversharpening, but then I suppose it's probably subjective. -Rick

What an interesting picture, Rick. I really like the blue at the bottom. This needs a crop if for no other reason than to get the waterline off the centerline... maybe a fourth off the bottom and a fourth off the right? Just my opinion of course. It's a nice image.

Hi Merv - I appreciate you comments and suggestions for improvement - I have also thought of possibly fading the blue to a much lighter shade as it goes towards the bottom, as a way to tone down the intensity of the blue just a bit. -Rick

Rick;
This is an interesting filtered/photographic composition of the trees producing a gorgeous reflection in the water, nice dof, I like the filter work, although I tend to agree with Carole in regards to cropping out the blue ripples at the base of this creation, bring it back up to where you have just the blue in the trees in the water, not the rippling effect, just a thought.
Thank you for sharing,
Keep right on experimenting,
Cherie

Thanks for the review, and for your comments... it seems to me that the blue area adds some interest (at least for me) and that if removed, there might be too much of the same thing - guess I'll just have to keep on experimenting as you suggested - Rick

I keep looking at this and I love the look of it! I think though that it could be cropped much tighter and this would help. If you cropped off the blue at the bottom and then an equal amount off of the right or left, maybe making that brown log the anchor point or main subject our eyes would know where to rest! Carole
