Very nicely composed, Gerhard. The lighting on the bird is excellent. I'd expect to see the same light on the limbs that protrude above the horizon. That's my only nit pick. It's an interesting image.

I think your composition here is perfect with the dark foreground. You've also fit a lot of detail into this image, which in itself is an art. And while this saturated color gives a special 'fairy tale' feeling to this shot.

Beautifully done filtered/photographic composition of the buzzard sitting on the dead wood with the glowing reddish-orange sun behind him, great dof on the wood and bird.

Interesting how you have made it so the left hand side of the buzzard's feathers are the same tones as the sun as it is setting for another day.
