Nice and loose...it captures the personality of Gretchen very well. I'd kave liked to see a little of the red on the left side, maybe just a blotch where the neck joins the body, for balance.. A fun sketch!

I agree Charles, a touch of color at that spot would have helped the modeling and contrast. Thanks! Steve

Steven, I am amazed how this 'quick' work has such a presence, with beautiful and effective colours and a combination of sparse lines.
In a way it has aspects of a near abstract, with just enough detail to provide the viewer with outlines of an animal.
However, for the casual viewer it could just as well have been a bull in one of Hemingway's stories... the red enhancing the action!

I really like the mark making here. When I first looked I saw a female costumed dancer with her head turned up between upraised arms. But it is now easier to see your Scottie. The area between the ears still seems the most interesting to me. I like seeing the pencil marks. Thanks for a festive beginning to the 4th.
